Forum Post: OMAP3530 BT.656(PAL) alpha blending

Good day,

I have the Tsunami base board from Technexion, with the OMAP3530 module (TAO-3530). The board is equipped with the tvp5146pf BT.656 decoder chip.

At http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/DSS2_SYSFS_Examples there are examples on how to route the different graphics sources (GFX, Vid1 & Vid2) to the available outputs (LCD, DVI, TV).

I would like to have the PAL composite input routed to the LCD and alpha blended with the graphics, so that the PAL video forms the background of the image and the normal graphics are displayed on top of it.

The size of overlay0 is reported as 800x480 when I "cat /sys/devices/platform/omapdss/overlay0/input_size".
However, the size of overlay1 and overlay2 is 160x120 pixels - I would have expected it to be set to either NTSC (720x480) or PAL (720x576)

Can you please post the steps to display composite video, received via the S-Video In port on either the LCD or TV outputs when using Linux 2.6.37 with PSP 4?

Regards,

Frikkie
