Dear Team,
I am working on TMS320C6455 DSP and CCS v5.4. My project has got time critical modules which has to perform the specified operations within a given time slot. At first entire project was not optimized (optimization level not set). With this setup one of my function was taking 330msec(Required timing 120msec).
In order to overcome this i had enabled the optimization by setting the optimization level to 3(max) and optimization for speed to 5(max). But with this i am able to achieve only a time period of 290msec, which means with and without optimization the difference is only 40msec.
Request to suggest what to be done? Is there any other setting to be enabled or how else can i optimize the code.
(Optimization level cross verified in asm files by enabling "keep assembly code" option(--asm)).
And for info, few other critical modules I have replaced C code with assembly code and that has cut down timing drastically. But however it cant be done for entire modules.
Request suggestion ASAP pls.
